The San Francisco 49ers beat the Los Angles Rams 27-7 on Sunday in Australia to move to 1-0 on the season, and now after returning home, they're apparently adding a new player to their practice squad.

According to CBS Sports' Matt Zenitz, the 49ers are signing defensive lineman McKinnley Jackson.

Jackson, 24, played collegiately at Texas A&M from 2020-23 and recorded 91 tackles, 7.5 sacks, two passes defensed, two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble in 40 games with the Aggies.

The Cincinnati Bengals took the 6-foot-2, 330-pound defensive lineman in the third round (No. 97 overall) of the 2024 NFL Draft, and over the last two years, he appeared in 22 games and recorded 22 tackles, one sack and one forced fumble. He failed to make the roster out of training camp this year.

San Francisco needs help in the middle of their defense with Alfred Collins on season-ending injured reserve and Mykel Williams on PUP while recovering from his torn ACL.
