The Denver Broncos completed a comeback in a 20-13 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 2 of the 2026 NFL season. Here are five quick takeaways following Sunday's victory.

1. Denver’s defense bounced back: After a rough night against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 1, Vance Joseph's defense responded by allowing a more reasonable 95 rushing yards against Jacksonville. Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence was pressured throughout the game, finishing the afternoon with two sacks and one interception. The Broncos also had a strip-sack negated by a penalty, and several near-interceptions were dropped. It was a good response from the defense after an ugly road opener.

2. Jonah Coleman looks legit, at a great time: Coleman finished the game with 13 touches for 58 yards and his first career touchdown. He celebrated that score with a Mile High Salute, which has endeared him to Broncos fans. Coleman also wisely slid down in bounds after picking up a first down late in the fourth, protecting the ball and allowing Denver to run out the clock. He's a smart, talented rookie. Coleman's emergence comes at a good time as J.K. Dobbins and RJ Harvey are now both dealing with hamstring injuries.

3. Welcome to Denver, Jaylen Waddle: How's that for a home debut? Waddle finished the day with eight catches for 138 yards, including a 49-yard long that set the Broncos up at the one-yard line (don't ask what happened after that). That's the kind of production Denver was hoping for when the front office agreed to trade multiple draft picks to the Miami Dolphins in exchange for Waddle this spring. After a quiet road debut in Week 1, Waddle looked right at home at Empower Field at Mile High.

4. Bo Nix settled down after a rough start: Nix had a rough start to the game with a terrible red zone interception that was thrown as he was needlessly backpedaling. Fortunately, with Tim Tebow watching, Nix calmed down and helped secure another fourth-quarter comeback win, the ninth of his career. Nix ended up with a respectable 22-of-31 for 288 yards stat line with one touchdown, one turnover and no sacks. If he starts games the way he ended Sunday's game, the Broncos' offense will be in good shape going forward.

5. Denver's offense still has work to do: They were able to do enough to secure a comeback win, but the Broncos' overall offensive performance still wasn't good enough. The unit went 4-for-11 (36%) on third down, 2-for-5 (40%) in the red zone, averaged just 3.7 yards per carry, had several sloppy penalties and only scored six points through three quarters. With tougher challenges ahead, Denver's offense needs to be more consistent and start games with a cleaner operation.
