Actor-wrestler Saurav Gurjar remanded by Gachibowli police in sexual exploitation case

Actor and professional wrestler Saurav Gurjar was remanded in judicial custody after the Gachibowli police booked him on a complaint from a woman who accused him of sexually exploiting her on the alleged false promise of marriage.
Mr. Gurjar was intercepted by immigration officials at Mumbai airport on the night of September 17 after arriving from the Middle East. A Look Out Circular (LOC) had been issued against him in connection with the case.
Gachibowli police team brought him to Hyderabad on Saturday and produced him before a magistrate, who remanded him to judicial custody on Sunday.
The case was registered on August 15 under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which pertains to sexual intercourse by employing deceitful means.
According to the complaint, the woman became acquainted with Mr. Gurjar through Instagram in 2021, following which they remained in contact over WhatsApp. They first met in person on December 25, 2021, and continued their relationship while she was in the United States and after her return to India.
The woman alleged that Mr. Gurjar promised to marry her and assured her that she would have rights equivalent to those of a wife. She further claimed that he persuaded her to quit her job in the US on the promise that they would start a business together.
She alleged that Mr. Gurjar later subjected her to physical and mental harassment and would distance himself and block her phone number whenever she raised the issue of marriage.
According to the complaint, Mr. Gurjar stayed with her from October 2025 to March 2026 and subsequently continued living with her in Hyderabad before allegedly leaving without informing her.
