The governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Rivers State, Dr Gabriel Pidomson, has dismissed the growing influence of the Rainbow Coalition in the State.

The governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Rivers State, Dr Gabriel Pidomson, has dismissed the growing influence of the Rainbow Coalition in the State.

He said the people are more aware now and are determined to change the narrative, adding that parties like ADC are gaining ground.

The ADC candidate alleged that Rivers people were โ€œmorally angryโ€ over what he described as the domination of the state by one political figure, insisting that the electorate was ready for a change.

He added that the political battle ahead of 2027 would not be a contest between individuals or political blocs but a referendum by Rivers people on who should govern the state.

He stated that the ADC would defeat the Rainbow Coalition in the governorship contest. He said the Rainbow Coalition has the right to boast but stated that the real people are not with them.

He said the Rivers people will reject any attempt to impose a governor on them in the 2027 election.

Speaking yesterday, Pidomson said: โ€œThe 2027 election is not just between Pidomson and the others. It is going to be Rivers people versus others.โ€

Pidomson said the state is not the property of any individual or political group.

โ€œRivers State is nobodyโ€™s private estate. It is our common patrimony,โ€ he declared.

He challenged Nyesom Wikeโ€™s political camp to point to projects the former governor had attracted to Rivers since becoming Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister.
