The Chinese sci-fi film Baby Bangkok has held its North American premiere at the TIFF Bell Lightbox during the 51st Toronto International Film Festival. Told from an AI robot’s perspective, the story follows a young girl who inhabits an AI body to search for her missing mother.

Writer-director Rosy Hoo led the main cast in attending the premiere, drawing a full house of fans of the genre and international cinema audiences.

"The female-led soft sci-fi work avoids forced conclusions, instead leaving audiences with open reflections on life, memory and tech ethics, presenting a fresh new voice in contemporary Chinese genre cinema to global viewers," commented a film critic after watching this movie.
