Air India Express passengers seen standing as flight moves on runway, airline reacts
A video showing several passengers standing inside an Air India Express flight as it moved along the runway has raised questions about onboard safety and passenger discipline.
Amitava Das, who recorded the video inside Air India Express IX 1236, shared the footage on X which also prompted a response from the airline.
In the video, several passengers could be seen standing inside the aircraft as it appeared to move along the runway.
“Passengers are standing, but the flight is moving. This is the condition of Air India Express. You can see,” Amitava said while recording the video.
Questioning the airline’s safety standards in the caption of his post, Amitava said, “Passengers are standing while the flight is moving. What kind of safety standards does @AirIndiaX follow on flight IX 1236?”

Responding to the post, Air India Express said it regretted any concern caused by the situation observed onboard the flight.
“Hi Amitava, we sincerely regret any concern caused by the situation observed onboard flight IX 1236. Please be assured that safety remains our highest priority, and all operations are conducted in accordance with applicable safety procedures and regulatory requirements,” the airline said.
It added that its crew was trained to ensure safety protocols were followed throughout the journey and to address any situations that might arise onboard: “We appreciate you taking the time to share your observation and thank you for your understanding.”
Meanwhile, the video also triggered a discussion on passenger behaviour, with several social media users pointing to the importance of following crew instructions and maintaining civic sense during air travel.
