Akhilesh Yadav's 'Angry Young Man' vs Yogi's Ajay Seth in Samajwadi Party's AI film

The intensifying political sparring in the run-up to the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly election has heated up with the Samajwadi Party taking a sharp dig at Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath with yet another AI-generated video.

At a press conference, party chief Akhilesh Yadav unveiled a short AI-generated motion film, inspired by the '80s trend, imagining a no-holds-barred conversation between himself and the UP CM.

The film cast Yogi Adityanath as the antagonist and Akhilesh Yadav as a messianic figure representing the downtrodden. It depicted the Chief Minister dressed like a Bollywood villain from a bygone era, seated in his lair and surrounded by his lackeys.

He is shown smoking a cigar and boasting about his public relations (PR) machinery, which he claims can manage his image and shape public perception despite allegations of misgovernance under the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government led by him.

Akhilesh Yadav’s character, in his 'angry young man' trope, is shown engaging in a sharply worded confrontation with the Chief Minister, accusing him of being responsible for rising crimes against women, substandard construction of expressways, increasing corruption, the deterioration of the public education system, and farmer suicides.

Throughout the exchange, the ex-CM repeatedly addresses Yogi Adityanath as "Ajay Seth," a feudal-style variation of his real name, "Ajay Bisht."

"Aaj tumhare raj mein cheeni jaan se zyada mehangi ho gayi hai... Cylinder, gas, ration sab mehanga hai. Sasti hai toh bas garib ki jaan. (Today, under your rule, sugar has become more expensive than human life... Gas cylinders and rations have all become expensive. The only thing that remains cheap is the life of the poor.)"

The film also shows Yogi Adityanath's character saying that he spends more on public relations (PR) than even Prime Minister Narendra Modi does.

"I spend more than 2 crore rupees in my PR. I spend more than Modi's PR," he is shown saying.

The statement is met by a loud response by Akhilesh Yadav, who says that the "pyaar (love)" bestowed upon him by the people of UP is enough to take on any PR machinery.

During the exchange, Yogi Adityanath’s character is also shown admitting that his political "model" involves dividing people, creating friction between communities, and misappropriating donations at the Ayodhya Ram Temple.

The video concludes with a large crowd of SP supporters gathered outside the window, raising slogans and holding placards that read, "2027 mein PDA Sarkar (PDA government in 2027)."

The film’s screening follows an earlier AI-generated video shown by Akhilesh Yadav, in which Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was depicted smoking a chillum against a satirical musical backdrop.
