Alden Richards addresses gay rumors on ‘Gandang Gabi Vice’

MANILA, Philippines — Alden Richards found himself answering a rather intriguing question during his guest appearance on the comeback episode of “Gandang Gabi Vice.”

In the show’s “Deep Truth” segment, Alden had to read statements and let Vice Ganda and her co-hosts Verna Periwinkle and Tetay guess whether each one was “trot” (truth) or “charot” (lie).

One statement read: “May sinapak ako dahil sinigawan akong ‘bading’!”

Alden clarified that he had never punched anyone for calling him “bading.”

However, he admitted that he has heard various rumors and speculations about his sexuality over the years, and that such comments can sometimes get on his nerves.

The exchange was among the highlights of Alden’s appearance on the September 13 comeback episode of “Gandang Gabi Vice.” The show makes a return in its new home, GMA-7, after its last episode in 2020. The late night show was previously shown on ABS-CBN.
