Alex Eala steps into spotlight at New York Fashion Week - INQUIRER.net USA

NEW YORK – Filipino tennis star Alex Eala is making her presence felt beyond the court, adding Calvin Klein to a growing list of appearances at New York Fashion Week.

Eala attended the Calvin Klein Spring/Summer 2027 show in New York on Friday, marking her third major fashion show after making her NYFW debut at Tory Burch and later stepping out for Michael Kors.

Eala was seated in the front row at the Calvin Klein show alongside actress Sadie Sink, singer Rosalia and BTS’ Jungkook, among other international celebrities.

Her Calvin Klein appearance came hours after she stepped out for the Michael Kors Spring/Summer 2027 show in a classic black dress. The collection was presented at the Museum of Modern Art’s sculpture garden and featured graphic stripes and sculptural influences.

Eala kicked off her New York Fashion Week appearances Thursday at the Tory Burch Spring/Summer 2027 show, where she was invited as an athlete guest and seated in the front row.

She wore a red blazer over a blue-gray striped shirt, paired with wide brown trousers.

Seated alongside Eala in the front row were former Vogue editor in chief Anna Wintour, Hollywood actress Amanda Seyfried and singer Lauryn Hill, among other celebrities.

Eala admitted ahead of the Tory Burch presentation that she was both excited and nervous to attend her first Fashion Week, noting that her mother had worn Tory Burch shoes while she was growing up.

She also drew a connection between her two worlds, saying sports and fashion both offer ways for people to express themselves and show their personalities.

Her growing interest in fashion had already caught the attention of Wintour, one of the industry’s most influential figures, who praised the Filipina tennis player during the US Open.
