Asian Games, September 27 schedule: Anahat eyes squash Gold, Manu seeks redemption
India faces a packed day of medal opportunities on September 27, with action beginning early in the morning with the women’s marathon race walk finals featuring Priyanka and Manju Rani. Equestrian dressage, shooting and archery will also provide medal and progression opportunities as the day gathers pace.
Harjinder Kaur will be in action in the women’s 69kg weightlifting final at 10am, while the afternoon brings two major squash finals. Abhay Singh takes on Malaysia’s NG Eain Yow in the men’s singles final at 12:30pm, followed by Anahat Singh’s women’s singles final against Sivasangari Subramaniam at 1:30pm.
The athletics programme dominates the evening, with Ancy Sojan Edapilly and Shaili Singh in the women’s long jump final, Animesh Kujur in the men’s 200m final and Indian athletes competing in the women’s 200m, men’s high jump, 100m hurdles and 3000m steeplechase finals.
