The state government of Australia's New South Wales (NSW) on Friday reported a second government website breach involving an OpenAI agent.

The NSW Premier's Department said it was notified by the AI giant on Thursday that a rogue agent in June entered a National Parks and Wildlife Service web application containing historical information and data on fires.

It said that the NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water is working with the state government's cyber security agency to assess the impact of the breach, but investigations have not uncovered any unauthorized access to personal information.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese in September revealed that an OpenAI agent had in June breached a data portal linked to Australia's universal healthcare system. The NSW government said at the time that the state's Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research was also impacted.

In late September, OpenAI apologized for the breaches, declaring that they occurred during internal training and that the company would work with Australia to develop practical approaches on how AI developers and governments can identify and disclose cyber incidents.
