Balcony portion collapses on 49-year-old man in Mumbai, death caught on camera
A 49-year-old man died after a portion of a balcony-like structure collapsed on him in Mumbai's Saki Naka area on September 24. His family has sought a detailed investigation into the incident and accountability if any negligence or violation is found.
The deceased, identified as Himmat Bhanushali, was seriously injured after a portion of the structure fell on him at around 10.30 am on September 24. He was rushed to L H Hiranandani Hospital, where doctors tried to save him. However, he died at around 6.30 pm the same day.

According to Bhanushali's family, the portion that collapsed was part of a warehouse that had remained shut and allegedly neglected for around eight years.
The family has alleged that construction work had recently begun at the premises despite the poor condition of the structure. They have also alleged that the required BMC permission for the work had not been obtained, and that adequate safety measures were not in place.
The allegations are yet to be independently verified.FAMILY SEEKS ACCOUNTABILITY
The family has approached the Mumbai Police and the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), seeking a detailed investigation into the circumstances leading to the collapse.
They want authorities to verify whether the required permissions were in place for the construction work, who was responsible for the safety and maintenance of the structure, and whether any violation of rules or negligence contributed to the incident.
The family has said that if the investigation establishes any violation or negligence, appropriate action should be taken against those responsible.POLICE PROBE UNDERWAY
Police have registered a case under Section 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against those involved in the work and are investigating the incident.
Bhanushali's family said they lost him within hours of the incident and are now seeking clarity on the circumstances that led to his death and accountability for the collapse.- Ends
