It will provide a direct link towards the existing Barapullah corridor and improve connectivity to AIIMS and other parts of South Delhi.

Once operational, Phase 3 will integrate with the existing Barapullah network, creating a continuous corridor of nearly 9 km and offering commuters a faster route between East Delhi and South Delhi.

The new corridor is expected to significantly reduce travel time between East Delhi, Noida and key destinations in South Delhi.

For commuters travelling towards AIIMS, the journey could come down from around 35 to 40 minutes to nearly 15 minutes, helped by the elevated, largely signal-free route and improved connectivity with the existing Barapullah network.

The improved connectivity is also expected to reduce pressure on some existing roads used by commuters travelling between East Delhi and South Delhi.3 KEY FEATURES

The corridor has been designed with multiple entry and exit points to improve traffic movement. The project includes nine loops to facilitate smoother access and exits along the route.

It will also include dedicated infrastructure for pedestrians and cyclists, including cycle tracks and pedestrian pathways.

Another major feature of the project is a new road bridge across the Yamuna. Recent reports have described it as Delhi's 10th road bridge over the river.WHAT IS THE COST OF THE PROJECT?

The revised cost of the Barapullah Phase 3 project is around Rs 1,635 crore.
