BARMM polls: Election watchdog flags ‘multiple voting’ in Maguindanao
MANILA, Philippines — An election watchdog flagged voters at Central Oring Elementary School in Buldon, Maguindanao del Norte, for voting multiple times during the first Bangsamoro Parliamentary elections on Monday, Sept. 14.
According to Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPRCV) spokesperson Ana Singson, one of their volunteers in Buldon reported that “many voters have voted multiple times” on Monday morning.
“They are voting on behalf of people who cannot vote or were unable to show up at the precinct,” Singson told reporters in a press briefing at the PPCRV command center in Makati City.
“They are also handing out sample ballots to support their candidates,” she added.
Singson reminded the public that a voter can cast only one vote and that voting for others is prohibited.
“Tapos na po ang kampanya, botohan na po ito. So please follow the rules,” she said.
