Bay of Bengal system to bring rain to Sindh

A low-pressure system originating from the Bay of Bengal is expected to enter Sindh on Sunday, bringing rain to parts of the province, with Karachi likely to receive light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms on Monday. According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department's Early Warning Centre, the weather system over the Bay of Bengal and the Indian state of Odisha has moved towards Chhattisgarh and is expected to enter Sindh on Sunday. Under its influence, Karachi may experience thunderstorms and light rain on Monday, while several districts of rural Sindh could receive moderate to heavy rainfall. The rainy spell may continue intermittently in the province until Wednesday. The Met Department advised citizens to monitor weather updates and take precautionary measures during rainfall. Meanwhile, Karachi experienced hot and humid weather on Saturday, with the maximum temperature rising by 1.8 degrees Celsius from the previous day to 36.3°C. Humidity was recorded at 56%. The Early Warning Centre said northwesterly winds, along with sea breezes, could affect the city from Sunday. Partial disruption of the sea breeze is expected to push temperatures higher, with the maximum temperature likely to exceed 37°C. Several districts of rural Sindh also remained in the grip of hot weather on Saturday. The highest temperature of 42.5°C was recorded in Shaheed Benazirabad.
