The Chicago Bears are making final preparations for their Week 4 matchup against the New York Jets as they look to get their first winning streak of the 2026 season. While it remains to be seen who the quarterback will be under center when Chicago takes the field, head coach Ben Johnson did provide updates on who will and won't be available for Sunday's game.

Speaking with the media on Friday ahead of practice, Johnson said left tackle Braxton Jones will miss Sunday's game with a knee injury and that Theo Benedet will start in his place. Jones suffered the knee injury during Monday night's 27-7 win over the Philadelphia Eagles when he was awkwardly pushed into quarterback Case Keenum. Benedet will make his first start since Week 18 of the 2025 season.

The other notable news at tackle is that Ozzy Trapilo will once again be inactive. Trapilo has been a full participant for the last several practices following his torn patellar tendon he suffered in January, but the Bears aren't quite ready to have him suit up for game action. Johnson said Trapilo is "looking better each week" and could be available "sooner rather than later," via CBS Chicago's Jori Parys.

While Jones and Trapilo will miss Sunday's game, there is optimism that running back D'Andre Swift will be good to go. Swift was added to the injury report Thursday with a knee injury and did not practice. Johnson said Swift is still reeling from Monday's game but is expected to practice Friday. Swift rushed 20 times for 84 yards against the Eagles. Johnson is optimistic Swift will be ready for Sunday's game.
