Bengaluru: Passenger jumps onto tracks at Rajajinagar Metro station, rescued

A passenger jumped onto the tracks at Rajajinagar Metro Station in Bengaluru at around 4 p.m. on Wednesday, September 23.

According to Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) officials, the man was noticed on the tracks by platform security guards, who alerted the station authorities. The Emergency Trip System (ETS) was activated as a precautionary measure, while the Station Controller and security personnel responded promptly.

The passenger was rescued within a few minutes and was found to have sustained no injuries. He was subsequently handed over to the police for further inquiry.

An official said there was no delay to train services due to the incident. “The passenger was safely rescued within a few minutes and handed over to the police. The Station Controller and security personnel responded immediately to the incident and the overall metro operations were normal,” the official said.
