Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan to host literary festival on Karnataka’s indegenous languages from October 2

As part of its diamond jubilee celebrations, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (BVB), Bengaluru, will organise a three-day literary festival titled ‘Karnataka Nudi Thota’, featuring the State’s indigenous languages, from October 2, 2026, in the city.

This literary festival presents an in-depth discussion of the past, present and future of Karnataka’s indigenous languages like Kodava, Tulu, Konkani, Beary, Arebhashe, Havyaka, Sanketi, Lambani, Soliga, Halakki, Kunabi, Siddhi, Betta, Kuruba, Jenu Kuruba, Panjariya and Iruliga.

Over 30 eminent scholars will participate. BVB has claimed that this is a first-of-its-kind festival in the State.

U.T. Khader, Minister for Health and Family Welfare, will inaugurate the event. M. Veerappa Moily, former Chief Minister and Saraswati Samman Awardee, will be the chief guest.
