Bihar Minister accuses RJD of making objectionable videos viral on social media

BiharMinister Bhagwan Singh Kushwaha on Friday (September 25, 2026) issued a controversial statement while describing the viral videos on social media related to minor girls being molested in several districts of the State.

Mr. Kushwaha, who holds the Planning and Development Department portfolio in the cabinet of Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, held the Opposition Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) responsible for making the objectionable video viral on social media platforms.

He not only levelled the serious allegation but also called people of the Yadav community Lucha-Lafanga (Rogues and Ruffians). Without referring to any data, the minister claimed that the majority of people in jail are from the Yadav community.

Mr. Kushwaha said this while speaking to the reporters at the party office during the weekly programme where ministers of Janata Dal (United) quota listen to the grievances of the common people.

“There are some people who are making such videos viral on social media, but when you check the reality of the video, you will find nothing. The opposition has no issue to raise. They have become issueless, and attempts are being made to tarnish the image of the government. RJD is responsible for making the video viral on social media,” Mr. Kushwaha said.

He also supported the stand of Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, who had allegedly blamed people of the Yadav community for being involved in criminal incidents.

“Jitan Ram Manjhi ji is a seasoned politician; his evaluation is very much right; he never says anything wrong. You check the number of prisoners in jail and analyse the data as well; you will find Yadavs are the maximum in number.

Not only that, but he also justified the photograph of the Jamui victim, a minor girl who was molested earlier this week, along with her parents, which was released from the official X handle of the Bihar CM when they went to meet Mr. Choudhary’s official residence in Patna.

Asked whether the CM’s act was a violation of the POCSO Act, Mr. Kushwaha said, “There was nothing wrong in it. I don’t think the POCSO Act was violated. It is the media that is making a hue and cry; there is no law as such?

RJD, in its social media post on X, attacked the Bihar Minister over his statement saying, “Yadavs are all Lucha-Lafanga, the biggest criminals!” This must be the “development” under this government! When the minister speaks this language, it has become clear what the government’s policy will be.”

It further added, “There will be a game of social and political polarisation by pitting one against ‘all others’ so that no one questions them about their work! If any Yadav people feel hurt by this casteist remark from an illiterate, ignorant, boorish, and rustic minister, then file a defamation case for spreading hatred in society.”

Meanwhile, RJD MP Misa Bharti went to the Secretariat Police Station in Patna to register an FIR against Bihar CM Samrat Choudhary over the molestation cases in Bihar. However, after waiting for some time along with her complaint letter, she came out of the police station and told the media that the police refused to lodge the FIR against the CM.

She questioned if the police are not lodging the FIR of a Member of Parliament and elected representative, what would happen to the common people?
