Boat ride in Bihar gets dicey as vessel packed with passengers swerves wildly mid-ride

A boat ride in Bihar proved to be a nerve-racking journey as a vessel packed with passengers and two-wheelers was seen swaying through the choppy waters of the river Ganga.

X account Magadh Updates shared the video on its account, showing the crowded boat making its way across the river in Bihar.

In the clip, dozens of passengers could be seen packed tightly on the boat, with some sitting while others stood shoulder-to-shoulder. Several motorcycles and scooters were also loaded onto the vessel, leaving little room between the passengers and the vehicles.

The river appeared particularly wide at the spot, with muddy, choppy water stretching into the distance. Waves repeatedly splashed against the sides of the boat as it moved ahead, while the vessel swerved sharply from left to right, making the ride look increasingly unsteady.

The post was captioned, “This is not an ocean; this is the Mighty Ganges in Bihar.”

The visuals prompted concerns over passenger safety, particularly the absence of visible life jackets or other safety equipment. One user questioned why the state still did not have a bridge at the location despite nearly a decade of the “double-engine” government.

Another called the situation negligent, pointing out that the passengers appeared to have no life jackets or other visible safety measures.

A third user criticised the passengers for what they described as a dangerous display of ignorance and poor judgment.
