A five-year-old girl was killed after a building suddenly collapsed on her while she was passing through a narrow alley in Azamgarh during rain and strong winds, CCTV footage showed.

The incident took place in the Anantpur locality under the City Kotwali police station area after a sudden cyclonic storm and strong winds hit the area.

In the CCTV footage, two children can be seen sharing an umbrella as they walk through the narrow alley, with buildings on both sides, amid rain and strong winds. Suddenly, one of the buildings collapses as they are passing through the lane.

The incident caused panic in the area. By the time the rescue team cleared the debris of the collapsed building, the girl had died.

The entire incident was captured on CCTV, and the distressing footage has become a topic of discussion in the locality. Police reached the spot, took the body into custody and initiated further proceedings.

The girl was identified as five-year-old Alina, a member of Afzal Khan's family.

Police said the family had informed them about the incident. After completing the necessary formalities, including preparing the panchnama, the police handed over the body to the family.- Ends
