CBSE Class 10, 12 datesheet: When will board exam schedules for 2027 be out?
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is expected to release the Class 10 and Class 12 board examination datesheet for 2027 shortly. While the board has not announced any official date for the release of the 2027 schedule yet, students can expect the examination timetable to be issued in the coming days, based on the pattern followed in previous years.
For the 2026 board examinations, CBSE released a tentative date sheet on September 24, 2025. It subsequently issued a revised date sheet on October 30, 2025. The board later released another revised version of the Class 10 and Class 12 datesheets on December 30, 2025, followed by a rescheduling notice on December 31.
WHEN WILL CBSE RELEASE THE 2027 DATESHEETS?
CBSE has not yet announced the date for the release of the Class 10 and Class 12 board examination datesheet for 2027. However, the board's last year timeline suggests that students can expect the first examination schedule several months before the board exams begin.
This means that students appearing for the 2027 examinations could potentially see the first schedule around September or October, although this is only an estimate based on the previous cycle and not an official CBSE announcement.
CBSE released the datesheet for the 2025 Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations on November 20, 2024. The official circular listed the date sheet for both classes and was issued several months before the examinations began.
The pattern indicates that students should not necessarily treat the first schedule they see as the final timetable. CBSE may make changes to accommodate administrative requirements, entrance examinations including the Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main), festivals or other scheduling considerations.
CBSE's recent practice shows that students may receive more than one version of the examination schedule.
The tentative datesheet gives students an early indication of the likely examination sequence and dates. It allows schools and students to begin planning their academic and examination schedules.
The final datesheet is the schedule that students should rely on for their board examinations. CBSE may also issue a revised datesheet or rescheduling notice if changes are required after the initial schedule is announced.
For 2026, for instance, the board's records show a tentative schedule in September, a datesheet in October and revised datesheets in December.
CBSE's current 2026-27 examination-related activity is already underway. The board issued a notice on September 10, regarding the prior intimation for submission of the List of Candidates (LOC) for the Class 10 and Class 12 examinations for the 2026-27 session.- EndsPublished By: Mridusmita DekaPublished On: Sep 15, 2026 12:03 ISTRead | CBSE begins month-long board exam support for Classes 10 and 12
