Childhood friends dress up as students, reunite after 50 years to relive old days

A man and his childhood friends turned back the clock by five decades when they reunited at their old school, dressed like students and carrying backpacks and kiddy water bottles as they recreated the carefree days they had once shared there.

Instagram user Rakesh Nagar shared a video documenting the reunion, which brought together his friends from the 1976 batch at the same school where they had spent their childhood.

In the video, the group arrived at the school dressed in formal shirts and trousers, resembling their old school uniforms.

With backpacks slung over their shoulders and colourful children's water bottles hanging down their necks, they looked ready for a day in class, except this time, they were all grown men returning to a place they had left behind 50 years ago.

The moment they entered the school gates, the years seemed to disappear. The friends rushed inside with huge smiles on their faces, laughing and enjoying the excitement of being back together in the place where they had once spent their school days.

They then recreated some of the games and activities they remembered from childhood. At one point, the group gathered for a game of pitthu, laughing and playing together just as they might have decades earlier.

They later formed a line and performed the familiar schoolyard “train” dance, moving together while laughing and enjoying themselves.

Reflecting on the reunion, the man said they had often wondered what it would be like to relive those “golden memories” and finally decided to make it happen.

“We all reached the same school where we laughed, played and bonded,” he said, describing how they recreated the things they had done as children.

He captioned the video, “My childhood friends from the 1976 batch.”

The reunion left viewers nostalgic, with one person saying they had still not managed to meet their own school friends. Another said watching the video made them happy, while someone else encouraged the group to keep enjoying life this way.
