Chinese procurer fleeing prison in China arrested in Thailand - Bangkok Post

(Photo supplied/ Wassayos Ngamkham) A 32-year-old Chinese woman allegedly fleeing a prison term in China for procuring women for prostitution has been arrested on a roadside near Suvarnabhumi airport after earlier entering Thailand illegally. 

Police arrested "Ms Wang" near the airport late Monday night.

She was wanted in China on charges of procuring women for purposes of prostitution. 

On Dec 2, 2025, the Xixiangtang District People’s Court sentenced her to six years in prison and fined her 500,000 yuan (2.47 million baht). She was allowed temporary release on bail because she was pregnant. She allegedly fled to evade imprisonment.

On Dec 18, 2025, she travelled by train to Guangxi province, near the Vietnamese border, and evaded Chinese authorities. It was believed she illegally crossed into Vietnam.

Evidence suggested Ms Wang had entered Thailand illegally and was hiding in Bangkok’s Huai Khwang area.

Police learned that she was planning to evade immigration problems by making a “visa run” - leaving Thailand and re-entering the country for an extended stay.

On Sept 11, she flew from Thailand to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. 

A few days later, she flew back from Kuala Lumpur, landing at Suvarnabhumi airport. Police kept her under surveillance. After leaving the airport she stopped on a roadside at a pre-arranged meeting point, where a vehicle was expected to pick her up.

Thai police then moved in to arrest her, and said she would be returned to China to serve her sentence.
