Choi-Wan trough, localized thunderstorms to affect PH - GMA Network
Typhoon Choi-Wan continued moving northward outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) as its trough is expected to bring cloudy skies and rains over parts of the Visayas and Mindanao, PAGASA said in its Saturday morning forecast.
As of 3 a.m., Choi-Wan was located 2,430 kilometers east of Northern Luzon, packing maximum sustained winds of 130 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 160 km/h.
Mindanao, Western Visayas, the Negros Island Region, Central Visayas, Leyte, and Southern Leyte will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the typhoon's trough.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused by localized thunderstorms.
Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters are expected across the country. — VBL, GMA News
