The 2026 Arab Media Summit, held in Dubai from September 15 to 17, attracted 250 media organizations from 23 countries, bringing together senior government officials, heads of media institutions, prominent figures and content creators.Β 

China Media Group (CMG) participated in the summit as the sole invited Chinese media outlet.

Focusing on media transformation and the creative economy, the three-day summit featured over 175 panel discussions covering topics such as content production, globalization narratives and the impact of artificial intelligence on journalism. Through eight thematic forums, it explores how the Arab media can enhance its competitiveness by pooling ideas, experiences and practices, while fostering new opportunities for cooperation.

Organizers noted that participants hail from diverse industries, as the Arab region and the world at large are undergoing profound geopolitical, economic, and technological transformations that are reshaping the media landscape.

As the sole invited Chinese media organization, CMG delegates engaged with participants from multiple countries and gave interviews to local media outlets.

In an interview with CMG, Mohammed Al Hammadi, chairman of the UAE Journalists Association, stated that China's influence in the Arab region is steadily growing.Β 

CMG's participation in the Arab Media Summit essentially represents interaction with Arab media. Both sides need communication and an understanding of each other's audiences, enabling interactive exchanges between China and the Arab world while helping the Arab world better understand China.
