Cowboys great Dez Bryant offers high praise for New York Giants rookie - Giants Wire

Retired Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant had high praise for New York Giants rookie Malachi Fields during the Giants' 28-20 victory over Dallas on Sunday Night Football.

Bryant shouted out Fields on social media after the win, highlighting the talent the rookie displayed on the field.

Fields finished with two receptions for 25 yards, including a 19-yard grab that showed off his hands and his ability to go up and win the football.

A third-round selection from Notre Dame, Fields entered the season with expectations of making an immediate impact in New York’s receiving corps. The flashes he showed against the Cowboys have given the Giants another promising weapon alongside star wideout Malik Nabers.

Bryant, who spent most of his NFL career in Dallas, played the same outside receiver position Fields is now expected to produce from in New York.

Though he did not stuff the stat sheet, Fields’ play suggested bigger performances could be coming if more passes come his way. The Giants secured a statement victory over their long-time NFC East rival thanks in part to his contributions and have built early-season momentum while establishing a stronger offensive identity.
