The Nigerian equities market recorded significant activity on Thursday, with price movements across various sectors driving performance on the exchange. Critical Minerals Financing Corporation led the gainers’ table in percentage terms, advancing by 10 per cent to close at N2.97 per share, up from N2.70 in the previous session. R. T. Briscoe Nigeria followed closely, gaining 9.55 per cent to settle at N9.75, while Caverton Offshore Support Group rose by 8.75 per cent to finish at N4.35 per share. Nigerian Aviation Handling Company also registered a strong performance, rising by 8.57 per cent to N152.00, while Linkage Assurance and Seplat Energy posted gains of 7.36 per cent and 7.33 per cent to close at N1.75 and N16,000.00 respectively. Additional price appreciation was observed across several mid-cap and small-cap stocks, including Legend Internet, which climbed 6.94 per cent to N3.85, and ABC Transport, which added 5.68 per cent to end at N4.65 per share. Fidson Healthcare advanced by 5.25 per cent to N84.20, while Austin Laz and Company and Consolidated Hallmark Holdings gained 4.55 per cent and 4.20 per cent, closing at N2.30 and N7.45 respectively. Ellah Lakes dropped by 5.33 per cent to N8.00, while Mutual Benefits Assurance slipped by 4.65 per cent to N3.28 per share. Lasaco Assurance and Wema Bank recorded losses of 4.44 per cent and 3.93 per cent to finish at N1.72 and N30.55 respectively. Other notable decliners included AIICO Insurance, which fell 3.05 per cent to N3.82, and United Bank for Africa, which dipped 0.98 per cent to N45.55 per share. In the Exchange Traded Funds segment, Meristem Growth Exchange Traded Fund recorded the highest gain, rising 6.21 per cent to close at N135.95, while Lotus Halal Equity ETF gained 5.46 per cent to finish at N143.00. On the downside, Stanbic IBTC ETF 30 and The SIAM L Pension ETF 40 recorded the steepest declines in the category, each shedding 10 per cent to close at N1,521.93 and N2,846.07 respectively.
