CRPF ADG Ravideep Singh Sahi retires after 40 years service

Ravideep Singh Sahi, Additional Director General (ADG) of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Southern Region retired on Wednesday (September 30, 2026) after over four decades of distinguished service.
A 1986-batch CRPF officer, Mr. Sahi served in some of the country’s most challenging operational areas , including Jammu and Kashmir, Chhattisgarh and the North-East. One of his most notable achievements was his tenure as IG, Srinagar Sector, from 2016 to 2020, when he played a key role in anti-terror operations and maintaining law and order during the sensitive period surrounding the abrogation of Article 370. He was also instrumental in enhancing the operational capabilities of the CRPF’s Quick Action Teams in the Kashmir Valley.
Following the 2001 Parliament attack, Mr. Sahi served with the Lok Sabha Secretariat and contributed significantly to strengthening the security architecture of the Parliament House Complex. He also pioneered the Counter-Insurgency and Anti-Terrorist training course in 1993, which later evolved into dedicated training centres across the country.
As IG (Communication & IT), he spearheaded the CRPF’s digital transformation during the COVID-19 pandemic through the implementation of e-Office systems, video conferencing facilities and other technology-driven initiatives. Later, as ADG, South Zone, he played a crucial role in anti-Naxal operations along the Telangana-Chhattisgarh and Gadchiroli-Chhattisgarh borders.
For his exemplary service, Mr. Sahi received several prestigious honours, including the Police Medal for Gallantry, President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service, and Police Medal for Meritorious Service.
