Customs Trial: Ahmad Dedi Claims He Was Unaware the Goodie Bag from Orlando Contained Money

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Customs Directorate General employee Ahmad Dedi claimed he was unaware of the contents of a goodie bag brought by former Customs Intelligence Section Head Orlando Hamonangan when he met with him.

Dedi stated that Orlando had indeed visited him in the Customs General Affairs Head office, Yanuar.

During that meeting, Orlando brought and handed over a goodie bag suspected to contain money to Dedi.

Dedi made these remarks while testifying in a bribery and gratification case involving Orlando as the defendant at the Jakarta Corruption Court on Friday (18/9/2026).

Initially, the prosecutor asked whether Orlando had brought anything and handed it to Dedi.

The prosecutor then inquired about the contents of the package.

"I don't remember, sir," said Dedi.

Dedi also emphasized that he did not open the package after receiving it from Orlando.

"Did the witness open the contents of the goodie bag after the meeting?" the prosecutor asked.

When further questioned about the whereabouts of the package after the meeting, Dedi admitted he did not recall.

"That's what I don't remember, sir," Dedi said.

Dedi then offered an explanation regarding what the goodie bag might have contained.

However, he did not confirm that the package held money.
