Cybercrime police arrest man for selling fake ‘Srichakra Archana’ ticket at Indrakeeladri

The Cybercrime police arrested a person who allegedly created a fake ‘Srichakra Archana’ ticket and sold it to a woman devotee for the upcoming Dasara Utsavams at Indrakeeladri.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP Cybercrime) K. Krishna Prasanna said on Monday that, acting on a complaint lodged by Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam Executive Officer (EO) V.K. Seena Naik, the cybercrime police arrested the accused who allegedly created the fake ticket using an old ticket in just a few hours.

According to the police, the accused created the fake ticket through social media and sold it for ₹3,500 to the devotee on September 19.

“As there was no QR code and signature of the temple officials on the ticket, the devotee grew suspicious and alerted the Durga temple authorities, who then lodged a complaint with the police,” the DCP said.

The accused has been identified as a native of Old Guntur and has been involved in similar cases in the past.

“A detailed investigation is under way,” Ms. Krishna Prasanna said.
