Dennis Trillo open to reconciliation with Patrick Garcia - GMA Network
Dennis Trillo is open to reconciliation with Patrick Garcia after the latter's "tell-all" interview with Ogie Diaz reopened the conversation about his past relationship with Jennylyn Mercado.
In Athena Imperial's video for GMA News, the Kapuso Drama King said he is amenable to patching things up if Patrick were to approach him about what happened.
"Everyone can be given a second chance despite the gravity of their past actions. We're all human and I think all of us can given each other a chance to change," he said in Filipino.
Dennis reiterated his stance on Threads.
"At the end of the day, what's most important is to learn from our mistakes and change for the better, to leave the sins of the past behind. Learn humility and forgiveness," he said in Filipino.
He also added the hashtags #forgiveandforget and #nomorehate.
Patrick is the biological father of Jennylyn's 18-year-old son, Jazz. In his interview, he denied that he abandoned the Ultimate Star during her pregnancy. He also said that he last saw Jazz in 2017, which was also the last time he gave child support.
The actor said he broke his silence after 18 years because his 13-year-old daughter, who experienced bashing due to his past, urged him to tell his story.
Dennis, Jennylyn's husband and Jazz's stepfather, reacted to the interview with pointed comments, which he later said were the "initial reaction" of a father protecting his family.
Jennylyn herself declined to comment on the issue but asked the public to stop bashing Patrick's family and his daughter.
The issue continues to be a hot topic on social media, with several celebrities like Gelli de Belen, Candy Pangilinan, and Ashley Rivera weighing in with varying opinions.
