Diamond and gold jewellery suspected to be worth several crores was stolen from a CaratLane showroom in Medipally’s Boduppal, Medchal Malkajgiri in Telangana, after unidentified burglars allegedly broke open its shutter in the early hours of Monday (October 5, 2026).
The theft is suspected to have taken place around 4 a.m. Jewellery displayed and stored on one side of the showroom was found completely cleared out, according to the franchisee.
Addressing the media outside the outlet in the morning, the franchisee of the store said that he was in Warangal when the building owner informed him that the showroom’s shutter was found open. He subsequently travelled to Hyderabad and reached the outlet on Monday morning.
The management carried out an inventory to determine the quantity and exact value of the stolen diamond and gold jewellery. While the assessment was still under way, the franchisee said the value of the stolen jewellery was expected to run into crores.
Medipally Police reached the showroom after being alerted about the burglary and collected samples from the premises.
The police examined CCTV footage from the showroom and surrounding areas in an attempt to identify the burglars and establish their movements before and after the theft. The investigators also looked into whether the outlet was recced by the suspects before the burglary. A case was registered and efforts were under way to identify and trace the suspects.
