Raichur Deputy Commissioner Poovitha S. said that under the State government’s initiative to bring administration to the doorsteps of the public, every grievance submitted by citizens will be thoroughly examined, coordinated across departments, and resolved swiftly.
Speaking after inauguration of the Praja Seva Abhiyan on Saturday on the Government PU College premises in Lingsugur in Raichur district, she said the movement—now in its third consecutive Saturday—aims to address personal and public issues.
The DC highlighted that Lingsugur has been declared drought-affected and that crop-cutting experiments along with drought relief measures are under way through multi-departmental coordination.
Zilla Panchayat CEO Ishwar Kumar Kandoo noted that Lingsugur faces critical issues related to health, malnutrition, and drinking water shortages caused by poor rainfall. He said that Lingsugur taluk has 30 gram panchayats and main unit of the Hutti Gold Mines and the ‘Jaladhare’ project’s main WTP unit, which supplies drinking water to over 1,400 habitations and seven local bodies, are functioning.
District Guarantee Schemes Implementation Committee president Pamayya Murari explained that meetings take place on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays at the hobli-level under the district In-charge Minister, and on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays at the taluk-level under local MLAs.
Dedicated counters were set up to receive public applications. During the event, certificates and agricultural equipment, including pesticide sprayers, seeds, rotavators, and water pipes, were distributed to farmers and beneficiaries.
The Deputy Commissioner inspected stalls set up by over 20 government departments to raise public awareness about various schemes.
