Drishyam 3 gets bumper opening, draws packed theatres: Ajay's career-best opener
Seems like the sky is the limit for Drishyam: The Conclusion at the box office. At least, that's what the early trade reports suggest, with the Ajay Devgn-starrer opening to packed theatres and celebrations on Friday, October 2. According to a report published by industry tracker Box Office India, the Abhishek Pathak directorial has taken a bumper start, exceeding trade expectations.
The film's advance booking was already strong, pointing towards an estimated opening of Rs 50 crore nett in India on Friday. However, with the National holiday and the craze among fans to watch Devgn reprise his iconic role as Vijay Salgaonkar, the numbers could be significantly higher than expected.
The report suggested that the film could collect Rs 55-60 crore nett or even more by the end of its opening day. If that happens, Drishyam: The Conclusion will have the second-highest opening day for a Bollywood film this year, behind only Dhurandhar: The Revenge.Just reached the theatre for DRISHYAM: THE CONCLUSION The atmosphere is absolutely INSANE! The report further suggested that the film could also become the biggest opener of Devgn's career. Singham Again, which released during Diwali in 2024, opened at Rs 43.70 crore nett in India, becoming the actor’s biggest opener at the time. Drishyam: The Conclusion is now on course to surpass that figure and set a new record for Devgn.
With positive word-of-mouth coming in, the film is also expected to become the highest-grossing film of Devgn's career, with trade estimates suggesting a lifetime collection of around Rs 300 crore nett or more in India.
Drishyam: The Conclusion is the final film in Devgn's popular thriller franchise. It brings Vijay Salgaonkar's story to an end, reportedly providing a conclusion to the case that has kept the people of Goa talking and left the Goa police grappling with it for years. Unlike the Malayalam franchise, in which superstar Mohanlal plays Georgekutty, the Hindi version will conclude with the third film.
The film also stars Shriya Saran, Tabu, Jaideep Ahlawat, Ishita Dutta, Kamlesh Sawant and Mrunal Jadhav, among others.- EndsRead more | Drishyam 3 Movie Release and Review Live: Solid climax and comedy win the audience
