Driver brings bus to a halt before dying of cardiac arrest in Vellore

A 59-year-old bus driver died of cardiac arrest after safely bringing the vehicle to a stop by the roadside near Gudiyatham town on Thursday, ensuring the safety of around 25 commuters.
The deceased, identified as K. Venkatesan, a resident of Katpadi, was driving the bus from Pernambut to Salem through the bypass road when he experienced severe chest pain.
The police said that Mr. Venketasan managed to halt the bus before collapsing on the steering wheel.
Commuters immediately rushed towards him and found him unconscious. They shifted him to the Government Taluk Hospital in Gudiyatham, where doctors declared him brought dead. A probe is under way.
