Drunk man falls asleep at Varanasi airport, misses flight despite arriving early
A man travelling to Dubai from Varanasi missed his flight after falling asleep in the airport parking lot while intoxicated.
Bhushan Kumar, a resident of Gorakhpur, was scheduled to board an Air India Express flight which was set to depart from Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport at 9.05 pm. He arrived at the airport around 5.30 pm but went to the parking area, where he fell asleep.
Security personnel on duty noticed Bhushan lying in the parking lot for a prolonged period and approached him to check on his condition. They subsequently informed police officials about the incident.
By the time the police arrived, the flight's scheduled departure time had passed, leaving Bhushan unable to board his flight to Dubai.
Police took him into their care and sent him to a primary health centre for a medical examination. No family member of Bhushan’s were present at the airport. The police then contacted his family in Gorakhpur and informed them about the incident.
Bhushan Kumar's journey to Dubai was consequently postponed after he missed his flight, despite reaching the airport well ahead of time. - Ends(With inputs from Roshan Jaiswal)
