ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced a major administrative reshuffle, promoting four BS-19 officers to BS-20 and transferring 54 BS-17 officials across the country with immediate effect.

The orders, issued with the approval of the Chief Election Commissioner, also include key postings at the provincial and secretariat levels.

According to a notification, four officers have been promoted from BS-19 to BS-20 on a regular basis and placed on one-year probation.

The promoted officers include Fazal Hakeem and Abdul Lag. Hakeem, the Regional Election Commissioner in Peshawar, has been posted as Additional Director General (Elections-II) at the ECP Secretariat in Islamabad. Lag, Director (Elections) at ECP Balochistan, will serve as Joint Provincial Election Commissioner (Elections) in Balochistan.

Khurshid Alam, Director to the CEC, has been posted as ADG to the CEC. The ECP has also upgraded and redesignated his previous BS-19 post.

Nazar Abbas, ADG (Electoral Rolls) OPS, has been posted as ADG (Electoral Rolls) at the ECP Secretariat and promoted to BS-20.

In a related notification, Syed Waseem Ahmed Jafri, Joint PEC (Elections), BS-20, has been transferred from Balochistan to Sindh.

54 BS-17 officers transferred

The largest set of changes came through another notification, which ordered the transfers and postings of 54 Assistant Election Commissioners and Assistant Directors in BS-17.

The transfers cover all four provinces and involve wide-scale movement between field offices and the ECP Secretariat in Islamabad. Several officers have been brought to the Secretariat to serve in key wings, including Confidential, Protocol, HRMS, Record and LGE.

Among those transferred to the Secretariat are Zoya Kanwal as Assistant Director (Confidential), Ayesha Hamid as AD (LGE-KP), Adil Ahmad Shahzad as AD (Protocol), and Syeda Javeria as AD (HRMS).

Field postings include Shabir Ahmed Shah, who has been moved from REC Rakhshan to DEC Kharan; Imran Khan Abbasi, from REC Shaheed Benazirabad to DEC Shikarpur; and Shahab Siddique, from DEC Bannu to PEC Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
