Embattled deputy national police commissioner Shadrack Sibiya’s internal disciplinary hearing at the South African Police Service (SAPS) begins on Monday.
Embattled deputy national police commissioner Shadrack Sibiya’s internal disciplinary hearing at the South African Police Service (SAPS) begins on Monday.
Sibiya is accused of corruption and misconduct arising from the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry that's investigating criminal and political interference in the police service.
Among the allegations against Sibiya are his alleged links to Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala, who has been accused of being a member of a criminal cartel.
Sibiya remains in custody over separate allegations of rape and sexual grooming.
As a result, his internal disciplinary hearing is expected to take place at the Kgosi Mampuru Correctional Centre.
