EPL: Chelsea new owners vow to compete for major trophies

Chelsea’s new ownership group has pledged to compete at the highest level and win major trophies following the departure of Todd Boehly and Mark Walter.

In a statement released after Clearlake Capital assumed full control of the club on the club’s website on Thursday, the ownership group thanked the departing partners for their contributions and said the club is moving forward with “a shared sense of purpose, clear direction and confidence in what comes next.”

“Our ambition is clear: to compete at the highest level, to win major trophies, and to build sustained success,” the statement said.

The ownership group emphasised that Chelsea supporters remain “the heart of this Club” and its “true custodians for over 120 years,” adding that while they hold the responsibility of ownership, “this will always be your Club.”

Success on the pitch was described as the top priority, with a commitment to competing for the Premier League and other major trophies while strengthening the club commercially to support consistent investment in the team.

The group also reaffirmed its focus on long-term infrastructure plans.

“We will keep working to move Chelsea forward, together,” the statement concluded.
