Kashmir chief cleric Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Wednesday (September 16, 2026) urged restraint amid reports of a drone attack near the Muslimsβ holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia.
βReports of the drone attack near the Holy City of Makkah Al-Mukarramah are deeply disturbing and condemnable, causing anguish among Muslims worldwide,β said the Mirwaiz.
He said all sides must exercise restraint and urgently return to dialogue and diplomacy, as the region was already reeling under prolonged conflict.
