Extended Dustin Poirier arrest video shows former UFC star agitated during transport, booking - MMA Junkie
New body cam video that surfaced Friday shows what happened after former UFC standout Dustin Poirier was put in handcuffs during his recent arrest.
Poirier, 37, was arrested June 21 at HartsfieldβJackson Atlanta International Airport and charged with misdemeanor public drunkenness after allegedly acting agitated and verbally combative toward airline workers who denied him entry to a flight. Poirier has since apologized for his actions and said he's seeking help for struggles with alcohol.
The initial body cam footage showed the responding officer come face-to-face with Poirier, who challenged him to a fight before conceding and being handcuffed. The footage Friday, which was released by YouTube channel Mark Fighting, showed the aftermath β including transport and booking.
Immediately upon his arrest, Poirier was calm as he discussed his past legal history with the officers as they walked him from the airport to a transport vehicle. However, as the transport process continued and the group arrived at a City of Atlanta airport police office, Poirier became increasingly aggravated.
When one officer told Poirier, "You know people are going to see this right?" a belligerent Poirier responded, "Man, f*ck them, too."
Poirier moments later challenged the officers to a fight.
"Y'all free me and we can go 1-on-1. Let's go 1-on-1. Me and you. Let's go. Let's see what happens," Poirier said.
Eventually officers were able to transfer Poirier to a detention center for booking, which is when the video ends.
Poirier retired from fighting competition in 2025. He's since described his struggles with keeping himself engaged and busy and turning to alcohol as a result.
Poirier was largely viewed as a model citizen during his competitive career, often praised for his charity work and class inside and outside the cage. He competed 32 times in the UFC and racked up 15 performance bonuses and an interim lightweight title.
