A fake notification claiming a three-day school week left children and parents bewildered throughout the day as it circulated widely on social media. The fraudulent notification, bearing forged signatures of the Education Department and Administration Department, was fabricated and spread across social media platforms. This came despite an official clarification from the Education Department stating that no notification had been issued regarding three-day holidays in educational institutions under orders from the provincial or federal government. Nevertheless, the misinformation continued to circulate for three consecutive days. Following the Education Department's clarification, another statement was circulated on social media in the name of the Administration Department regarding holidays in educational institutions. Believing this to be authentic, parents, teachers, and children were once again misled. However, a notification regarding cost-cutting measures issued by the federal government last evening made no mention of three-day holidays, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, for education institutions or government offices.
