Five injured in attack by neighbours

Five members of a family, including two children, were injured when their neighbours attacked them in Benakatti in Yaragatti taluk in Belagavi district on Saturday (September 19, 2026) night.

Family members of Rudrappa were attending a funeral when a neighbour began abusing them. When Rudrappa objected to it, around a dozen members of the neighbour’s family came to Rudrappa’s house and beat him up.

They also beat up his wife, brother and children. The injured have been admitted to the district hospital where they are undergoing treatment. Doctors told the police that they were out of danger.
