Fitness influencer and former Bachelor contestant Sam Wood will remain behind bars after facing court this morning on several domestic violence charges following his arrest in Noosa on the weekend.

Mr Wood was arrested after police were called to a property on the Hastings Street beachfront on Saturday night amid reports of domestic violence.

Police yesterday charged Mr Wood with the domestic violence offence of assault occasioning bodily harm and strangulation in a domestic setting.
He was refused bail after his arrest.
The 46-year-old Victorian appeared in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court this morning, by video link from the local police watch house.
He has been remanded in custody and is due to return to the court on Thursday afternoon.
Mr Wood's lawyer, Mathew Cuskelly, told the court he would make a bail application for his client at that appearance.
He said he would tender material relating to the charges before then.
Mr Wood found fame on the 2015 season of The Bachelor and has since become the face of a home fitness program.

In a statement posted to social media this morning, wife Snezana Wood said the family was cooperating with authorities.
"This is a difficult time for all of us, we are working through this as a family," she said.
