Former Steeler Ben Roethlisberger shares how he'd handle the DK Metcalf issue - Steelers Wire

One of the biggest problems with the Pittsburgh Steelers offense through two games has been how poorly wide receiver DK Metcalf has played. Metcalf has had multiple uncharacteristic drops and it feels like his struggles have gotten into his head, which is never good.

But former Steelers starting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger offered up some sage advice to Metcalf via his podcast and kept things simple as to how he would address this issue with Metcalf if he was his quarterback.

"Don't overthink it," Roethlisberger said. "Just play."

Roethlisberger also said the coaches need to do things to get him going that he's comfortable with and not just manufacture catches on plays Metcalf isn't good at. He noted this was the problem last week when Pittsburgh tried to get him the ball early but it was on short throws and Roethlisberger said they need to push it down the field with him to get him back on track.
