A four-year-old girl died of suffocation after accidentally getting locked inside a stationary car near her home at Vinoba Nagar in Julurupadu mandal of Bhadradri Kothagudem district on Sunday.

The deceased, Tanvitha, was the elder daughter of Vinoba Nagar sarpanch Naveen, according to sources.

The girl reportedly got inside, while playing in the afternoon and accidentally locked herself in the car. She remained trapped for nearly two hours as her family searched for her.

The family later found her unconscious inside the car and broke open a window to rescue her. She was rushed to a hospital in Kothagudem, where doctors declared her dead.

Her father was away in a nearby village when the incident occurred, sources said.

The girl’s tragic death left her parents devastated.
