Galatasaray secured a 1-0 home victory over Kocaelispor in the fifth week of the Trendyol Süper Lig, maintaining their unbeaten start to the season.

The Istanbul side hosted Kocaelispor at RAMS Park and controlled the match before eventually breaking the deadlock in the second half.

Galatasaray captain Abdülkerim Bardakcı opened his scoring account for the season with the decisive goal.

The experienced centre-back put Galatasaray ahead in the 71st minute with a powerful shot from outside the penalty area, giving his team a 1-0 lead that they held until the final whistle.

The goal was Bardakcı's 17th time changing the score in his 176th competitive appearance for Galatasaray. It was also his first goal in his fifth official match of the season.
