Ghaziabad lawyer's monkey friend visits his chamber every day, waits for roti

For close to five years, a monkey has been making a daily stop at a lawyer’s chamber in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad’s district court, waiting for his share of roti. The monkey has developed a close bond with advocate Mahesh Yadav, who feeds it roti during its daily visits to his chamber.

Yadav, who has been practising law at the Ghaziabad District Court for around 30 years, has grown accustomed to the monkey’s regular visits. Whenever he sits in his chamber, the monkey often arrives, climbs onto his table and waits for food.

Sometimes, the monkey rummages through the lawyer’s pockets in search of bread. On other occasions, it simply sits in front of him, waiting patiently for its meal.

Yadav makes sure to leave a loaf of bread for the monkey every day. As soon as the monkey finds it, he takes the bread and leaves the chamber.

The lawyer has maintained this routine for nearly five years. He also affectionately strokes the monkey’s head and feeds him bread whenever it visits.
