GOAT director thrilled as CM Vijay, Ajith set aside fan wars at Le Mans Cup in UK
Director Venkat Prabhu said his heart was "super-duper full" after Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay and Ajith Kumar met at the Le Mans Cup race at Silverstone, England, in a moment that quickly drew attention from Kollywood fans. Venkat, who directed Ajith’s 2011 blockbuster Mankatha and Vijay’s 2024 film The Greatest of All Time (GOAT), said he was happy to see the two stars together.
Venkat spoke about the Le Mans Cup race while attending the pre-release event for Lenin Pandiyan, directed by DD Balachandran and starring Sivaji Ganesan’s grandson, Dhaarshan, in his debut film. In a video shared on Sathya Jyothi Films’ YouTube channel, he said, “I couldn’t go to London today, as I had to attend this pre-release event. Otherwise, I would’ve been there. But it was important for me to be here.”
Speaking about Vijay and Ajith setting aside their fans’ rivalries and meeting, Venkat added, “As a fan, I am very happy to see Thala and Thalapathy together. I am happy they are setting aside fan wars and meeting. Our CM is there for an investment meeting, and coincidentally, the race is happening at the same time. So, he’s flagging it off. I am glad to see them respect their friendship.”

The meeting between the two actors gained further attention after Vijay waved the ceremonial green flag for the race Ajith was competing in. Before the race began, Vijay ran towards Ajith with a broad smile and hugged him, with videos of the moment going viral. Ever since it was announced that Vijay would wave the ceremonial green flag at the Le Mans race Ajith was competing in, fans had been eager to see the two together. Others were surprised, given that some fans had fought online and offline in their names for nearly three decades because of a perceived rivalry. Trisha was also seen joining Vijay and Ajith at their tent before the race began. Another angle. Another video. Sports commentators compared Vijay and Ajith to Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise to explain their stardom to those unfamiliar with them. They also said they hoped that after Pitt’s F1 movie, Ajith would star in a film exploring F2 racing.
Meanwhile, Ajith was last seen in Vidaamuyarchi and Good Bad Ugly with Trisha, and he has Dare Devil lined up.
